How do I know if this is a good fit for my loved one?
If your loved one enjoys sharing stories, reflecting on life, or simply chatting about their day but could use more regular connection, Positively Sage™ may be just what they need. Our approach is gentle, encouraging, and tailored to each person’s pace and personality.
We’re not a medical or therapeutic service and are not able to provide support for individuals experiencing significant memory loss, confusion, or cognitive decline.
How are your companions selected and trained?
We take great care in choosing our companions. Each one completes background checks and specialized training focused on empathy, active listening, respectful communication, and safety protocols. We hire only people we’d trust to brighten our own parents’ day.
Are calls private and confidential?
Yes. We follow strict privacy practices to ensure each participant feels comfortable and respected. All calls are encrypted and may be recorded for quality assurance. Your information is never shared without your consent.
Is Positively Sage a dating service?
Not at all. Positively Sage is a friendship-based calling program created to bring warmth and connection to everyday life. Our callers are trained to listen, share stories, and brighten someone’s day — never to form romantic or matchmaking relationships.What is My Friend Called?

We believe everyone deserves to feel heard and appreciated, so we pair each participant with a thoughtful companion who listens, engages, and celebrates their stories through regular phone or video calls.
How does My Friend Called work?
Once enrolled, each participant is paired with a dedicated Positively Sage™ companion and their 30-minute calls are scheduled in advance. Conversations can be by phone or video, whichever feels most comfortable. Our goal is to build a genuine, ongoing friendship that enriches each week.
Who will be calling my loved one each week?
Your loved one will have the same trusted companion each week so that a true connection can grow over time. We take time to match personalities and interests, creating a natural fit that makes the calls something to look forward to.
Do I need to be tech-savvy to participate in the calls?
Not at all. We make it as simple and friendly as possible. For phone calls, you only need to be able to answer a phone. For video calls, If you can click a link and speak on a call, you're good to go. We also offer support and setup guidance.
Can calls be by phone or video?
Yes! Participants can choose whichever option feels best. Many prefer a friendly phone chat, while others enjoy seeing a familiar face on video. We’re happy to adapt to comfort and technology levels.
How are calls scheduled, rescheduled or handled if missed?
My Friend Called follows a clear Scheduling & Attendance Policy that explains how calls are scheduled, how rescheduling works, and what happens if a call is missed.

How long is each call?
Each My Friend Called session lasts 30 minutes, just the right amount of time for an uplifting, engaging conversation without feeling rushed or tiring.
Are the conversations guided or free-flowing?
They’re natural and flexible. Some days, your loved one may want to share stories or memories; other times, they may enjoy chatting about travel, hobbies, art, music, or day-to-day life. Our companions are great listeners who gently guide conversation based on what feels right that day. We avoid politics and religious debates to keep the space friendly and welcoming.
Can I give this as a gift to someone else?
Absolutely! My Friend Called makes a thoughtful and heartfelt gift for a parent, grandparent, or older friend. You can easily purchase a plan on their behalf, and we’ll help with setup to make sure they’re comfortable from the very first call.
I’m paying for this service for my loved one, can I receive updates about their participation?
Since you would be the account holder we can confirm general participation (like number of completed calls), but we do not share call content without the participant’s (your loved one) consent. Participants may choose to share additional insights with you as the account holder. Consent for this is completely optional and can be changed or withdrawn at any time.
How is this different from therapy or medical services?
We are a non-medical, non-clinical service focused on social connection and emotional well-being. Our services are not a substitute for professional mental health care or medical services.
When does billing start and when will I be charged again?
Billing begins when you subscribe and covers one service cycle of scheduled calls. Calls typically begin within one week of signup to allow time for matching and consent.
Plans renew automatically on a monthly basis unless canceled before the next renewal. Each billing cycle includes a defined number of scheduled weekly calls.
What is Sage Reflections?
Sage Reflections is a heartfelt way to capture and preserve personal stories, wisdom, and memories. Through relaxed, conversational recording sessions, we help seniors reflect on meaningful moments in life and create a keepsake their loved ones will treasure for years to come.
How do memory sessions work?
Participants enjoy guided conversations either by video or phone with a trained Positively Sage™ companion. We gently prompt with thoughtful questions about childhood, milestones, lessons learned, or favorite memories. From there, we create an edited audio or video collection that beautifully captures their voice and personality.
Can multiple family members join in?
Yes! Family members are welcome to participate, ask questions, or simply listen in as stories unfold. Many families tell us it becomes a special bonding experience that brings everyone closer.
What kind of keepsake will we receive?
You’ll receive a beautifully presented digital memory book—audio or video—that captures your loved one’s stories in their own words. We can also help you create a shareable link or printed version so the memories can be passed down for generations.
How is personal information protected?
Privacy is deeply important to us. All recordings and transcripts are securely stored and shared only with you and those you choose. We never publish or distribute personal stories without permission.

How do I get started?
It’s easy! Simply fill out our short contact form or schedule a free introductory chat. We’ll answer any questions, learn a bit about your loved one, and guide you through the enrollment process step by step.
How much does it cost?
Each 30-minute My Friend Called session is $40, with weekly calls forming the foundation of every plan. You can choose the weekly frequency that works best either once, twice or three times per week.
Pricing for Sage Reflections will be included in the program launch.
How many My Friend Called calls do I get each month?
Each plan includes a set number of calls per billing cycle:
Once per week - 4 calls
Twice per week - 8 calls
Three times per week - 12 calls
Billing occurs monthly, and each billing cycle covers one four-week period of scheduled calls.
Can I cancel a subscription?
Yes! You can cancel within 48 hours of your first purchase for a full refund if no calls were used. After that, standard cancellation terms apply: cancel at least 24 hours before your next billing date, with a small administrative fee for unused time. You may also transfer unused hours to another person once per year with advance notice.
Do you offer trial calls or consultations?
We do! You’re welcome to schedule a free consultation before enrolling. It’s a relaxed conversation where we learn about your goals and share how our programs work—no pressure, just connection.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as secure online payment methods. You’ll be able to manage your plan and payment details easily through your Positively Sage™ account.
How do I contact support if I have questions?
Yes. We offer email and phone support to help resolve basic technical issues related to accessing our services.
What kind of device do I need?
For phone-only services, a cell phone is sufficient. For video calls, a smartphone, tablet, or computer with internet access is recommended.
Do I need to install any apps or software?
No special apps are required. We use secure, accessible platforms that work via standard phone or browser. Easy instructions to get started are provided in advance.
